In anticipation of the Round 3 group buy we are summarising the main features and differences of the third group buy compared to previous ones.
CU80 Design and Features
- ISO Support
- Per Key RGB SMD LEDs
- Hot-Swap Sockets
- QMK / VIA Support
- Aluminium Case
We have not removed any of the core features that make the CU80 a great mechanical keyboard. Our aim has always been to make mechanical keyboards more accessible to enthusiasts and gamers.
The CU80 can be customised to your use case, physically and via QMK/VIA. The hot-swap sockets allow users to discover and determine which linear, tactile or clicky switches are right for them whilst QMK/VIA support allows users to re-map keys and create different layers that improve their user experience.
The base kit includes the following:
- Aluminium Case
- ISO PCB
- Rubber Foot
- Foam Sheet
We have decided to discontinue the CU80 ANSI PCB. We feel that as a small company this decision allows us to focus on improving our manufacturing times and quality. We will look to bring back ANSI support in the future.
Price and Availability
We are excited to announce that the CU80 base kit will start from £74.99 (exVAT)!
We have worked extensively with our manufacturers over the past few months to reduce the manufacturing costs of the CU80 and we are passing these savings on to you!
When the CU80 launched in 2019 the base kit was £124.99(ex VAT), which was then reduced to £83.32(ex VAT) in Round 2 and has now been further reduced to £74.99(ex VAT) in Round 3! We've wanted to make custom mechanical keyboards affordable and accessible and this is a massive step in achieving our goals.
The following optional extras will be available during the group buy:
- Durock V2 Stabilisers (Clear and Smokey)
- A selection of Durock Switches
- A selection of Kailh Switches
- Additional PCB
The group buy will be live from 8th Feb until 28th Feb 2021. We aim to start shipping CU80 R3 orders in Q2 2021.
