Privacy Policy

Essential Information Collected

In operating the capsunlocked store, it is essential for us to capture some information about your device, such as your IP address and information related to your visit when you browse our store. For example, this might include time-stamp, the last page or product you visited, the indication that you logged in. We do that to:

  • remember who you are after you log in so that you do not need to authenticate at each click;
  • monitor if our website is running with the high performance we are dedicated to providing;
  • let you browse between products without having to start back from the home page at each click;
  • remember if you put something in your shopping cart before you decide to checkout; and
  • control that your data is processed securely.

We call the information mentioned above “essential information” and we collect it using cookies. Cookies are small text files that most websites use. A website places cookies in the web browser and then reads the information collected through the cookies every time the user performs an action. We use cookies. Without enabling this mechanism and this kind of cookies (first-party cookies), we could not provide you with the smooth experience that you expect while you are navigating.

 

Order information You Expressly Provide

If you buy something from our store, we will need more specific information about you. To fully process your order and ship the merchandise you selected, we need your personal data such as your first and last name, your email address and your shipping and billing address. We also use your contact and order information to send you communication related to the processing of your order. We will ask you to provide this information in our “checkout page” before letting you finalise your purchase with the payment.

 

Accounts

You can sign up for an account if you’d like. This will make us happy because it confirms your interest in our store. It should also make you happy because we will remember your information and, when you decide to buy our products, you do not have to provide all of your information over again -- you just have to log-in. Before registering your account, we will ask you to expressly provide your consent to this privacy policy. Only if you give us your consent, we will open your account. We also provide you with the possibility to easily withdraw your consent and delete your account. Just connect with us at the contact details at the bottom of the page.

 

Partial Purchases

If you have started to buy one of our products, but have not completed the purchase, you may have provided partial information, such as your email. In that case, we might send you an email to remind you about your interest. If you are not comfortable in receiving further emails of this kind, we will give you a simple opportunity to opt-out. Your privacy means a lot to us and we will stop sending you these communications right away.

Reviews

If you have completed a purchase, we will send you an email to ask you to review the product you bought. We want to be sure that whether you love your purchase or have a complaint, you can share your opinion with other customers.

Personalisation

We also use some specific information related to your visit, such as the timestamp of your visit, the page or the product you viewed, where you are coming from (if you came to our store because you clicked on an advertisement or you just opened our direct link). This is very similar to the “essential information,” but we use it to provide you with a personalised experience. The information on your visit provides us with insights on your interests and allows us to send you relevant communications. We capture this information through cookies, called a "beacon," that we allow you to block.

How do we process your information?

We use an external provider to run our store, BigCommerce. BigCommerce is based in the US and is a participant in the EU-US Privacy Shield Framework and committed to providing best-in-class service and data protection. You can check its participation in the Privacy Shield on the official site of The International Trade Administration (ITA), U.S. Department of Commerce.

If you purchase any products from the following brands; Leopold, Tai-Hao, Ducky or Vortex we will need to share the following information with Bosse Computers, whom are our UK distributor of these products: Name, Shipping Address, Product Ordered. This information will not be shared with any other third parties. Bosse Computers are a UK registered B2B, UK business whom only operate in the UK. Any information supplied to them will not be shared by them/us to any other unauthorised third parties.

Information about your order might need to be provided to suppliers and distributors if a product is faulty and/or needs to be returned.

Terms, Conditions, Returns and Refunds Policy

General 

capsunlocked does not provide refunds or accept returns after 28 days of shipping the product.

capsunlocked does not provide any refunds on any items that have been opened and/or used.

capsunlocked does not provide any refunds on any items that have suffered accidental damage. 

capsunlocked does not cancel and refund any purchases made for group buy products once the group buy has closed. capsunlocked does not accept returns for group buy products after they have been manufactured, shipped to, and received by the customer and will not provide any refunds to customers whom wish to return their order after receiving it. 

capsunlocked will only cover the returns shipping from customers within the UK. 

Once your returned order has been received, it will be inspected to verify it's condition. If the item(s), once inspected, are in good condition and unused then the order will be refunded and the customer should receive their refund within 10 working days. If you do not receive your refund within 10 working days, please contact capsunlocked. You will be notified once your returned item has been received.

capsunlocked will not provide any refunds for items that have been opened and used. All orders are covered by 1 year warranty. If your product develops a hardware or software issue within 1 year of your purchase, an appropriate solution will be arranged to resolve any issues. 

There is no warranty for accidental damage for any product.

Varmilo and Varmilo Custom Orders

capsunlocked does not cancel and refund any custom Varmilo orders once they have been submitted to Varmilo. capsunlocked does not accept returns for custom Varmilo orders after they have been submitted to Varmilo, manufactured, shipped to, and received by the customer and will not provide any refunds to customers whom wish to return their order after receiving it. All Varmilo custom orders are covered by 1 year of warranty. If your product develops a hardware or software issue within 1 year of your purchase, an appropriate solution will be arranged to resolve any issues.

Varmilo products are not eligible for returns or refunds as all orders are custom made for each customer. If you keyboard develops a problem, a free repair service is available. Once a Varmilo group buy has ended and the order has been confirmed with Varmilo, your order may not be cancelled and you will not receive a refund.

By purchasing a custom Varmilo mechanical keyboard you agree to the terms and conditions on this page.

Group Buys

capsunlocked does not provide refunds or returns for group buy items that have been damaged during the shipping process by a courier/shipping company. As group buy items are often produced in limited quantities, capsunlocked does not guarantee that it will have any replacements for any particular product. capsunlocked will package each item appropriately but does not guarantee that it will arrive in the condition that it was sent. 

Group buys will be run between two dates. 

  • If by the closing date, the group buy does not reach the required MOQ, all orders will be cancelled and participants will be refunded in full.
  • If by the closing date, the group buy does reach MOQ, the order(s) will be submitted to the supplier/manufacturer. 

Lost Items

If an item is lost or damaged by a shipping company, only the following amount of compensation will be guaratneed from capsunlocked, depending on the shipping company chosen: 

  • Hermes: £20 (+ shipping fee paid)
  • DHL: £20 (+ shipping fee paid)

We will also work with the shipping company and yourself to locate the parcel.

Whilst we will work tirelessly on your behalf to resolve any issues in regards to lost or damaged (damage caused by shipping companies/couriers), we can not guarantee that you will receive any additional compensation outside of the amounts listed above.
